How to Use
A quick guide to the situations you'll meet most often on-site, written to read in about 3 minutes.
Open it on your phone and use it right away.
🔰 For First-Time Users
Toso Aibou (Painter's Partner) is a free tool for painting professionals. No sign-up and no app install required — it works right in your browser.
There are two main features:
① Paint Guide: Check dilution ratios and application methods
② Inventory & Tinting Tool: Manage your own paints and search for approximate colors
Below, the instructions are organized by situation.
1Check a dilution ratio
When you open a paint can on-site and think, "What was the dilution ratio for this paint again?" — this is the feature for you.
- Enter the product name in the search box on the top page
(e.g., Ares Dynamic TOP) - Press the "Search" button (or open the Paint Guide first, then type)
- The product card shows the dilution ratio, thinner, and number of coats
- Tap the card to see dilution ratios by method (brush / roller / airless) and, where available, a link to the official PDF
2Manage your paint inventory
Keep a list of the paint cans in your warehouse or vehicle, all on your phone.
- Open the "Inventory & Tinting Tool"
- Enter the product name, color number, remaining amount, and so on, then register it
- Registered paints are saved on your device (inside this phone)
3Make an approximate color from stock
When you're told "Get me JPMA standard color N-25 (Nittoku) on-site," you can search whether one of your own paints can substitute for it.
- In the "Inventory & Tinting Tool," enter a JPMA (Nittoku) standard color number or a Munsell value
- From your registered stock, close paints are shown in order of smallest color difference (ΔE2000)
- If a paint with an exactly matching number exists, it is prioritized as a "Number Match"
- Combinations of tinting agents are suggested too
4Tips for getting more out of it
-
▶ Add to home screen
Choose "Add to Home Screen" in your phone's browser to open it in one tap, just like an app. -
▶ Toggle text size
Use the "Text: Standard" button at the top right to change the size. Easier to read with gloves on or outdoors. -
▶ Search by maker name too
You can list products by maker name alone, such as "Kansai Paint" or "SK Kaken." -
▶ Works with both katakana and hiragana
Searching "アレス" or "あれす" both hit. Handy when you're in a hurry.
5When you're stuck or want to make a request
Not sure how to use something, can't find a product, or want a certain feature — please don't hesitate to get in touch. Feedback from fellow tradespeople always shapes the next improvement.
